I overall thought that this novel was more of an emotional and real life situation kind of novel. It was really dramatic and it made me over think the situations in the novel and I connected them to my real life situations. It made me get a great amount of depressing thoughts of what could happen to me and my family. It made me get a great amount of depressing thoughts of what could happen to me and my family. It then brought me to a time when I didn’t want to finish the novel anymore, of how dramatic it was, but then it came to me that I had to finish the book because I had promised my mother that I would read it. She said that it could maybe help my relationship between me and my father.
It did, somehow, fortunately. In conclusion, I did not like this book due to the great amount of drama it contains. Especially in the part that the son Saul commits suicides because of the anger and depression he has towards his father, Mr. I felt that part was really intimidating to me because that could happen to anybody in real life situations including me.
I would highly recommend this novel to those who have relationship problems either between their children or their parents. If not, it could help enhance the relationship between parents and children especially with father and son. Although this book talks about how to avoid family problems, it contains a high amount drama and it was very disturbing for me. If you are not into drama then I highly suggest for you not to read it because there is a high possibility that you might not want to finish read the book. The purpose I have for reading this book was to possibly improve my relationship with my dad. Until I finished reading the novel myself, I realized that I am fortunate for having a such a personal relationship with him and I am grateful for it.
